- HELP!... Experiencing PROTAMENTO problem when syncing Bars & Pipes
- 2.5 to tape using Syncpro accessory.
- -Setup description: A2000, Syncpro box, Roland JV880 sound module,
- all communicating via Roland A880 Midi patch bay... SMPTE set to 30
- frames, all other DIP switches "OFF" on Suncpro box.
-
- Right after startup (PRIOR to any syncing to tape) when sequence
- played direct from B&P, everything is OK. As soon as sequence played
- via tape sync, extreme Protamento happens to sequenced notes. If you
- stop tape and try to play sequence direct from B&P again, Portamento
- still there. If JV patch is switched, then Portamento goes away (even
- when original patch is tried again) UNTIL you sync to tape again...
- then Portamento is back! I tried filtering Control Change #65 with
- Event Filter tool on both input and output sides of pipeline (during
- playback only) but didn't help... disabled Control Change option in
- both Midi In & Out tool/window, still didn't help... tried manually
- writing Control Change values to 0 in track note editing window, still
- didn't help... tried turning off Portamento and Control Change
- options in JV, and tried filtering out Control Change messages going
- thru Midi patch bay - sitll didn't help. I also noticed some sort of
- "loop"... all notes in sequence are doubled... Merge swithc is OFF
- on Syncpro box (but signal is merged to the A2000 Midi In in patch
- bay) and Midi In is NOT even hooked up on Syncpro box. Manually
- erased doubled notes but Portamento is still there. I desperately
- need help to get rid of this Portamento problem and stop the doubling
- of all sequenced notes! Can anybody shed some light on this problem?
-
- thanks...
